FIFA 15 feels and looks much more fantastic and realistic

If anything this years game is much more realistic. You can’t expect wingers to make runs all game, throw a sub in if you need to, pay attention to work rates, use the L1 pass if you want them to make a run when they are clearly fatigued. If you’re not keeping shape on defense stop chasing the ball around, use R1 and go somewhere else with a different player if you need to. Possession is key in this Fifa and I like that a lot, not like last year when you just run down the wing and get the cross in for the op header. This year seems to cater to pretty much all of Messi’s attributes, running with the ball in tight spaces, being agile around defenders. Group defending is the best way to stop it, cut off open areas and you’ll be fine. People act like players don’t make mistakes in real life and then get pissed when they do on a game.
FIFA 15 feels and looks fantastic, and aside from minor issues with AI and first touch, I’m pleased with how the game plays when I’m in matches and navigating through menus.
Alan Smith and Martin Tyler are back on commentary duties and do a decent job, even if they do end up fading into the background. It seems that they were paying close attention to the World Cup with a lot of references to how certain players got on in Brazil. Even in these early days it can get a bit wearing. Much more entertaining are the genuine songs from the terraces that have been included - another move bringing the game closer to reality.
Regardless, FIFA 15 is an exceptional effort. It’s easily one of the best sports games of the year, and fans of the series should be happy with what EA has done with this entry. It doesn’t arrive without its problems, and there’s always the argument that these sports games don’t change enough each year to warrant spending $60.
