Ahead of last weekend's BlizzCon game-announcement frenzy, two of Blizzard's secrets have sneaked out in the form of a leak. Both revolve around World of Warcraft: one for the latest Shadowlands expansion, and another for the World of Warcraft Classic server option.

With all of the content originally announced for World of Warcraft Classic already released, many fans have been eagerly waiting to hear about the game's next steps. Their anticipation was rewarded during the opening ceremony of BlizzConline, where it was announced that World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic is coming in 2021.

Announced during BlizzCon 2021, The Burning Crusade Classic is a set of servers that will let players explore beyond the Dark Portal into the apocalyptic Outlands almost exactly as it was in 2007. WoW Classic players will be able to level up to a new cap of 70 while exploring familiar zones like Hellfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh. And Burning Crusade Classic will also unlock a ton of "new" features like flying mounts, jewelcrafting, the Draenei and Blood Elf races, and the ability to play as a shaman or paladin regardless of your faction.

When Burning Crusade Classic launches in 2021, players will have access to the original questing content and the first stages of endgame gear. That means players will be able to level through zones like Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh, and Nagrand. Once they’re level 70, they can purchase a flying mount, and choose between the Aldor and Scryer factions in Shattrath City.

The raids available at launch will be Karazhan, Gruul’s Lair, and Magtheridon’s Lair. After some time, Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep will unlock, allowing players to go head to head with Lady Vashj and Kael’thas Sunstrider. Later patches will add raids like Zul’Aman, Black Temple, and Sunwell Plateau.

The other leak in the wild, for Shadowlands' upcoming "Chains of Domination" update, also came in the form of a leaked Blizzard press release, which WoWHead breaks down with plenty of images and descriptions of what's to come. Fans playing the latest expansion can expect at least one new raid and mega-dungeon, along with more of the usual expansion-patch trimmings, at some point. This leak didn't include a release date, but we're not sure if that means we should expect a stealth drop when the update is announced tomorrow.

Before Burning Crusade Classic launches, players will be able to make a choice with their current World of Warcraft classic characters. You can either advance your character to the Burning Crusade era, or hang back and continue to experience the original game on a Classic Era server. Players can clone their characters for a small fee, allowing them to keep a level 60 while also leveling that character through Outlands.
